Coach D’Arrigo joined SD Force as the Director of Goalkeeping in 2023. Michael brings over a decade of coaching experience at a variety of levels from Youth- High School- Junior College- Division-1. He is going into his 4rd year as an Assistant Coach at UCSD for the Men’s soccer team (NCAA Division-1.) In addition to those roles, he also coaches multiple teams on the boys side of the program and owns and operates his own training business working with goalkeepers from youth-pros, D’Arrigo Training Academy.

Previous organizations he has coached with and worked for include Paradise Valley Community College, Miramar Community College, FC Tucson, Surf Soccer Club, San Diego Soccer Club, Phoenix Rush, Scripps Ranch Soccer Club, Matrix SC, RSF Attack, and Cathedral Catholic HS. He earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of San Diego (NCAA D1) where he was a four-year starter for the Toreros. D’Arrigo is in the top 10 in numerous statistical categories and went to the Elite-8 in 2012.

After graduating, he spent time playing professionally for two seasons with the New England Revolution (MLS) and Arizona United (now Phoenix Rising – USL Pro).  As a youth, Michael won several state, regional, and national championships with Real Salt Lake, Cisco SC, and Catalina Foothills HS. He was 1st team all-state for 4 years in high school and was awarded AZ Player of the year in 2008. He won the Southwest Divison and Western Confernce 2x times with FC Tucson in the PDL, played with the U18 USMNT, and represented the US abroad in the World Championships in Madrid, Spain. 

Michael holds a USSF “B” license and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper License. His goal as a coach is to sharpen and hone players’ skill sets to best prepare them for their next level of competition.
